The Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP) is a federally administered program designed to reduce financial barriers to oral health care for up to nine million uninsured Canadian residents with an adjusted family net income of less than $90,000.
As of May 2025, eligibility has expanded to include adults aged 18 to 64. Depending on income level, the CDCP covers between 40% and 100% of eligible dental care costs.
Under the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP), eligible patients may receive coverage for a variety of preventive, basic, and major dental treatments.

Have no dental insurance (not covered by an employer, pension, or private plan)
Have filed your Canadian tax return for the previous year
Have a family income under $90,000 (based on adjusted net income)
Are a Canadian resident for tax purposes
